A nice simple dog gate and it works!
We needed a dog gate to keep our small dog out of our 3 season porch and found this gate on Amazon. The things I like about it are: 1) it is only 10 inches high so easy to step over but tall enough to keep the dog out; 2) it looks good and inobtrusive blending with the doorway which is painted white; 3) it was one of the cheapest options but still does a great job; and 4) is relatively easy to adjust for different door widths. A couple of things that could be improved are: 1) the instructions could be a little clearer – fairly small type font and pictures that could be enlarged. I figured it out but a little confusing at first; 2) once you put it in it is fixed in place. I kept it just loose enough so that, if you forgot to step over it, it would collapse and not trip you. But overall we are very pleased with our purchase.

Great Dog Gate!
This dog gate has proven to be a sturdy and able to take my dogs attempt to knock it down to get upstairs. The set up was easy and stepping over it is a breeze. I was nervous at first but I’m very happy with this purchase!

Great product!
Great quality and perfect to keep my chihuahua out of the spare rooms but small enough for the cats to get over.

Sturdy and Easy to Use
This dog gate works well and is easy to set up with the pressure-mount design. The metal frame feels sturdy, and the extra extension pieces make it easy to fit different doorway widths. It’s a good height to step over but still keeps small pets contained. Solid gate for the price.

a good gate for keeping small dogs out of places they should not be
Let me tell you all a story. Once upon a time I had an elderly neighbor who, as will we all, got to a point where she needed care neighbors alone couldn’t give. (yes there was an adult son yes he scrubbed his hands of her yes we hope he’s been written out of the will.) This elderly neighbor had a dog who, years ago, I foolishly agreed to look after if anything should happen to her. Perfectly lovely animal. Maltese mix, female, three working legs (fourth probably should have been amputated when she was a young dog, a curled up under-developed little thing she holds close to her chest like she’s a tiny napoleon) and, you know, a companion dog. For an old woman. Who did not live with their adult sibling and had a regular 40 hour a week job. So when push came to shove years later and my neighbor had to go into a nursing home the dog was..brought to me. Now in a VERY different living situation and with two older cats who did not appreciate this stranger in their house, I was tasked with dealing with this animal until my neighbor’s natural end, at which point I would hopefully find a good home with a middle aged woman who wanted someone to follow her around 24/7, whine incessantly when she wasn’t in view, and do things like angry shit on the floor when she wasn’t allowed in places despite DEFINITELY being old enough to know better. Enter this gate. It’s easily assembled and fits many doorways due to its extra pieces. I got it up in about fifteen minutes. The feet on the edges that exert pressure on the doorframes can be a bit confusing but don’t let that stop you, a couple seconds of fiddly work and you’re done. If you want more height out of it, you simply install it a little higher off the floor- that is, if the canine you’re trying to keep out of a space isn’t an under the edge wiggler. The gate is exactly the right height for a human to step over, for cats to jump over, and for little three legged maltese mixes to not be able to traverse. In this way I’ve managed to keep my bedroom a dog-free area of the house, a place the cats can escape to when their unasked for roommate becomes overbearing. tl;dr: It works like it’s supposed to, got everything right in the box, some assembly required but I promise it’s not scary.

Our little dogs figured how to get over it in 2 days
Love this gate. Love that it helps keeps the dogs inside our room at night, and allows the cats to cone and go, however, after 2 days, it was no longer containing our 9 lbs Chihuahua mix nor our 25lbs Mini Golden. They realized they could easily jump over it. Maybe something twice as tall will keep them in our room at night without having to shut our bedroom door. My sister in law and her family now have it as they adopted one of our foster puppies the day after Christmas and this littlest fence/gate allows them to keep her away from the kids rooms, bathroom & laundry room without impeding the access for everyone else with having to use a full size baby gate.

Works Great for Non-Standard Openings Too
So far, so good! I needed something to block off my kitchen and living room since there’s no standard doorway (it’s more of an open/sliding-door layout). I ended up using a table to help secure the gate in place, and it’s been working really well.At first, my puppy figured out how to escape through a small side gap, but adding an extra pole completely fixed that issue and blocked the opening. Now even when he tries to push or squeeze through, the gate stays in place without any problems. He’s currently 8 weeks old and about 3.4 lbs, so still very small but I’m curious to see how it holds up as he grows… and whether he’ll eventually figure out how to jump over it 😆

Perfect for our specific use
For us, this gate is exactly what we needed, but it is a pretty specific usage case. We were trying to keep our small dog from getting into the kitty crunchies in the litter box. We wanted a fence that could reach across a fairly wide span, be tall enough to stop an aging small dog but not impede the cat or the people at all. We did not need an opening or swinging gate, because the dog never needs to get through and anyone else (cat or people) could easily go right over it. For our case model, this works perfectly. Install is easy and as permanent as we wish it to be. The setup is sturdy enough that the dog can not push it over or force his way through it like a free standing screen. The height is lower than most screens, so that the cat isn’t inhibited in any way, but the dog is effectively prevented from passing it, and it’s not in our way at all. Works great.

Perfect for small dogs only that can’t jump over

I recently purchased the 10-inch high dog gate, and overall, it’s a good solution for small pets. The height is perfect for keeping smaller dogs contained without obstructing the view or requiring a full-size gate. Here’s my breakdown:Perfect for small dogs: If you have a tiny dog or puppy, the height is just enough to keep them from wandering off without being intimidating.Easy to step over: As an adult, it’s convenient to step over the gate without constantly opening and closing it, especially for those who don’t want to install larger gates.Simple setup: The gate was easy to install with no complicated tools required. It fits securely in place without damaging walls.Lightweight and portable: It’s easy to move around if you need to block different areas at different times.Overall, I’d recommend the 10-inch dog gate for small pet owners who need a quick, easy way to create boundaries. It’s affordable, practical, and easy to use, though it may not be the best choice for active or larger pets.

Bought the 10 inch which is high enough to give our new puppy control of movement around the house yet easy for our cat to jump over so he continues to enjoy freedom (escape) when he needs it. Fits our door space so well we don’t need to stick it so can move between doors….,

I ordered this to keep my chihuahua from a bedroom where she likes to pee on the carpet. It’s very solid and low enough that I can simply step over it. It’s better than using a baby gate because you don’t have to open and close it.

Got the 18inch to keep the dog contained in the family room. Easy to climb over. Hated always having the door to the family room closed. Easy to assemble once you figure out that it is a reverse pressure bolt and screw as the diagrams were not particularly helpful. Removed one star because the pictures on the website show the gate installed a few inches above the floor – but you cannot do this – you have to install directly onto the floor to ensure a sturdy gate if you are using all the extensions. It says that in the instructions as well
