Perfect Kitchen Safety Solution Without Closing Him Out
My pup loves to hang out in the kitchen while I’m cooking, but it just wasn’t safe for either of us, so I grabbed this gate—and it’s been exactly what I needed. It keeps him at a safe distance from hot pans and busy feet, but he can still peek in and feel included, which I love.The quality is solid and sturdy without feeling bulky. It feels durable enough for daily use and doesn’t look cheap at all. I really appreciate how easy it is to install and take down—no tools, no hassle—which makes it super convenient if I need to move it to another doorway or space. The rubber bumpers are a big plus too; they protect my walls and work well even with molding.Functionality-wise, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The expandable design fits my doorway perfectly, the handle is comfortable to use, and it feels secure once it’s in place. It is a wonderful pet gate. I’m so happy I ordered it. I just took it out of the box and I placed it in my doorway, it was so easy to do. I bought it to keep my pets separate, but also to be able to have airflow in my kitten without having to have all the door shut. I really like it.

Good tension gate, a little tricky for me to adjust.
This gate is relatively easy to lock once you have it at the right length. Unfortunately, the adjustment part is difficult for me; hard to push or pull so the two pieces add up to your desired width. It is not an intuitive process, and I wish I had read the instructions, although I do not remember pulling any from the box. Still, I must have done it correctly because it locked into place where I set it, with adequate tension to keep it there. (I do think a determined child could push it down with concerted effort, like any other tension gate.) In my house, it keeps my grandchildren (3+10m and 22 months) out of the dining room, although they have not attempted to defeat it. They cannot hop over it, or reach the lock arm, which I keep on the no go room side of the gate. My daughter and son in law have a version of this gate attached to one wall at the top of their staircase. Same process to adjust and lock, and it has not been broken or breached in the two years they’ve had itAlso worth noting is the way it locks. There’s a pivot arm with a tab that fits into one of three slots. Choose the one that gives you maximum tension. It may feel like it’s about to break, but so far it’s been okay, and it’s not difficult to disengage.The price was reasonable, although I think I bought a “used, like new” option. In summary, It’s as good as any other gate I’ve encountered, but it’s worth mentioning that–like any other gate– it’s not a sure thing,. There is no substitute for eyes on the kids at all times!

Pet doorway gate is great
Easy to remove and put back in place in doorway from kitchen to carpet area of house. 23” tall easy to step over. Needed to keep 16 year old dog in kitchen. She can get outside through dog doors but then came back inside poop/pee on rug. Can remove this gate to allow other dog into kitchen/outdoor access as well. Tried other pet gates from local pet stores but were hard to remove and replace between the doorway.

Frustrating…
This pet gate needs some refinement… It is very hard to extend and the tension handle has to be in just the right place in order to extend it. Problem is that the tension handle won’t stay in the ‘right place’ after setting it and since it takes both hands to slide out the extension piece it gets frustrating to continuously reset the handle in the (up) right position.The handle that locks the extended piece in place is also very flimsy and it feels like it will break when setting and un-setting the gate… I am surprised it has at least held up even if it is difficult to put it in position. I am going to look for another pet gate that will hopefully be easier to use and I will use this one in a lower traffic location that will only need to be taken down less.

Excellent Quality easy to Place
Excellent gate. I have 3 Pekingese dogs all 2 years. They would knock on my bedroom door in at exactly 6 am. How did they know. Barking ensued. Just got it today. Easy to place in the door. Nice and tight. Totally recommend

A NOPE for me!
I considered a 2 star rating, but since it technically does block the doorway, I gave it a 3. While it came without instructions it seemed like a no brainer. However, now that I’ve tried to use it, I want to throw it out the window! It is NOT easy to get it to slide for sizing, the only way I could get it to slide was to turn it sideways (short side in the air) and pull it. When I tried sliding it when horizontal it refused to budge, let alone slide smoothly! It definitely does not slide seamlessly as their video shows. I finally gave up and just set it in the doorway and hope it keeps wet paws out of my kitchen. The plastic is pretty flimsy, but not an issue, can’t say if it opens easily because it is not locked in place. If it worked as it should it would keep my dogs out of the room I guess. Can’t recommend.
