Frequent Questions

Q: Is Elvie Curve right for me?

Elvie Curve uses natural suction, making it ideal for gently expressing milk during let-down while feeding or pumping on the other breast, or whenever your breasts feel full. Elvie Curve is especially useful for women who wish to gently express milk with minimal additional effort. Designed to be worn in-bra, it can be used without risk of being knocked off by your baby, and is small and compact, making it convenient solution for mothers on-the-go or who travel. It can also be used on the other breast to a single Elvie Pump, giving you the freedom to move.

Q: Can the suction be adjusted?

Elvie Curve has been designed with your comfort in mind. If the suction feels too high, lightly press the Valve at the top of the Pouch to release a small amount of pressure, as shown below. If the suction feels too low, re-squeeze the Pouch through your bra to generate more suction. We recommend squeezing the Pouch every couple of minutes to maintain a steady suction while you are using Elvie Curve, but you’ll learn what works best for you!

Q: Is Elvie Curve one size fits all?

Elvie Curve is one size fits all so there’s no need to worry about choosing a size. It has been tested with women of many different breast shapes and sizes for the best comfort and fit.

Q: How much milk should I get with Elvie Curve?

Elvie Curve can hold up to 4oz or 120ml of milk. There are markings on the back which let you see how much you have expressed at the end of your session. How much milk you collect with Elvie Curve is a personal thing, as milk flow varies greatly between women. It can be impacted by where you are in your feeding journey, when you last fed and what you are doing at the time!

Lets you gently express milk using natural suction when you let down while you’re feeding or pumping on your other breast, or whenever your breasts feel full
Sitting discreetly inside your bra, Elvie Curve is wearable so your hands are kept free and you don’t have to worry about it being knocked off when your little one is feeding
Fits the shape of your breast, simply press on the silcone pouch to increase suction to desired level; Easily decrease suction using the control valve on top
Dishwasher safe and only 2 parts to clean
Safe for mother and baby; Made with food safe silicone, and free from BPA and phthalates

    So easy
I tried a haaka with my first child and even if I could get the suction right, the moment I moved (let alone the moment she moved) it lost suction. I could never get more than a half ounce. It took a few tries to master but I’m able to attach the Curve with one hand – it helps that I can suction it on and then adjust my nursing bra. This is perfect for midnight nursings for me – the baby usually only takes one side per session and I can get almost a full pumping amount on the left over side if I use the Curve.I’m not a fan of pumping both sides at the same time, I find it really uncomfortable. Again I can stick this on the side I’m not pumping and get almost a full pump sessions worth. If I really want to drain that side, I’ll just pump for five minutes at the end of the session.Granted I’ve maxed out at about 4.5 ounces a side. So if you regularly pump more than that it might not have the capacity you need. The little valve can be challenging when you pour out the milk – until you get the hang of it.Cleaning is pretty easy if you have a bottle brush.

    Elvie Curve VS Haakaa Ladybug
This product worked very well for me. I’m larger chested and I found it fit into my bra easily and maintained suction well and did a great job easing pressure inbetween pumps.I put off buying this for a while because I had the haakaa ladybugs which are a similar product and about half the price. I didn’t see the point in spending more money to buy a product similar to one I already had. However, I’m going back to work at a busy job where I work 12+ hour shifts and needed a better option to help ease pressure inbetween pumping if I can’t pump as often as I normally would and in my desperation I decided to splurge and give this one a shot to see if it might give me a better option than the ladybugs. So far, there are definitely some key differences.Pros: I feel the curve overall works better than the lady bugs for helping drain and keep off pressure inbetween feeds/pumps and will allow me to go longer than the ladybugs before having to do a full pump/feed. I feel like this has a stronger, more consistent suction than the ladybugs. Another pro is it fits better in my bra, and is easy for me to adjust the suction without having to take off my shirt and actually see the product.Cons: it’s more expensive and harder to clean and collect milk from. To combat the milk collection problem I just place the container I’m pouring into in a bowl so if there’s any spillage I can still collect it, but I’ve gotten better with practice at not spilling.Overall, I do think this is the better product for helping ease pressure and collecting milk inbetween feeds/pumping, especially if you are in a place where you may have to extend the time inbetween pumping seasons, but it is quite a bit more expensive and the ladybugs may not help as much, but can help in a pinch if this model is too pricey, however, would recommend the splurge on this one if you can. It was definitely worth it to me!

    Overpriced for what it is
Purchased for road trip to use on one side while nursing on the other. Baby is 7 months. Left on during and for 1 hour after feed and had 5-6 drops of milk in total. Sitting in the car, I had to readjust and reattach multiple times, but easy to use. Used around house a few times while nursing other side and had less than half an ounce. For $50 I wanted to love this thing. Compared to the cost of the Haakaa, this thing is significantly overpriced for what it is . Its much more discreet and not as bulky, which was why I stopped using the Haakaa. Would have been more useful at the earlier months when milk supply is ample. For me, I never had an oversupply and never leaked or had a significant letdown on the other side while nursing. An electric pump with stronger suction works better. If you have an oversupply, or letdown easily, I’d go with a cheaper silicone brand and save the $. You don’t need the name brand and fancy packaging, which is what you’re paying for. Plus they never go on sale. Its easy to clean, however when drying, water pools into the “release” button and can never fully dry. I had to shake out multiple times while on drying rack to shake out water that accumulated inside and spend an extra 15 seconds balancing it to drain properly. Not a deal breaker, but for $50 that stands out to me. Comes in two pieces. The white outer skeleton is unnecessary and adds to the weight. (Probably useful if you fill up the cup, which never happened with me.)Going back, I would have invested in cups for my electric pump instead. (Like Freemie etc. )

These have been so game changing I have 4 of them I use in rotation so I always have two on hand if sterilising the others.LIKES- When I use this on one boob while breastfeeding on the other, I collect approx 60ml – 80ml at a time and put in a bottle for my husband to use (while I gratefully eat dinner with two hands!)- Can use this while breastfeeding in cradle hold and baby can’t kick it off (unlike the udder type pumps)- I can pump discreetly (ish) while in public and don’t need a special bra (although it does make my boobs look enormous!)- You can see how much milk is approximately collected by looking down through the clear bit at the top (meaning you don’t need to take it off or look in the mirror to see)- You can easily adjust the suction by pressing the valve at the top- I have sometimes fallen asleep with these one and no precious milk spilled out (thank goodness!)- Easy to clean and steriliseDISLIKES- It’s near impossible to read the measurements on the back of them because the writing is basically transparent. It’s such a useful feature to have but completely futile on this as you can’t read it in the daylight, let alone while sleep deprived at night. My midwife recommended these to me and I use them daily. In terms of value for money, I thought they were expensive initially as it was £19.99 for ONE (so < £40 for two) - they do not come as a pair. However, for the amount of precious milk I get, I see it as a great return on investment as it means I can pump anywhere and someone else can bottle feed my baby while I rest or catchup on housework.

I got 4 Haakaa, and 4 ladybugs but this one beats them all. So convenient, suction is good. Can basically wear it everywhere. Super recommend.
