Great option for older special needs children
I have a special needs son who has a vesicostomy and still has to wear diapers at 6yrs old. He has always needed to wear onesies to help hold his diaper in place.Appearance: they are shaped exactly like a baby onesie. There are snaps in the crotch and the shoulders open up at the neck.Softness: I bought these multiple times and this most recently time the texture has changed. Before they were a very soft and thin material. This time felt thicker and rougher almost like a man’s tshirt. Both have felt fine and comfortable but it has not been consistent.Size: my son is a small 6yr old with a very large belly. These fit him perfectly. They do sometimes shrink in the wash if you use heat so I wash on cold and low heat dryer.Color: I got the white which is beautiful when you first get it but it does get dingy over time esp with excessive use.Material: think but not see though. Quality metal snaps, and cotton material bodyVersatility: these have allowed my son to wear them as an outfit or as an under garment putting shirt and pants/shorts over it and you’d never know by looking at him.

A staple of the well-dressed infant’s wardrobe
We purchased several packs of these onesies for our newborn, and indeed, onesies proved to be the go-to outfit for hanging out at home and for layering when we go out. They are easy to put on and take off and they snap securely at the bottom.Some positives about these Gerber onesies:1) They are solidly made. So far we have not had any rip or tear. Admittedly our infant isn’t playing rugby in them, but in the course of everyday wear they are holding up admirably.2) The three snaps at the bottom are secure but not so tight that they are difficult to fasten.3) The “lap shoulder neckline” (i.e. overlapping fabric on either side of the neck) make it relatively easy to slip over your baby’s head.4) The white cotton is slightly transparent, which makes it easy to see the blue indicator line on diapers with the color-change feature. (“Honey, we have a blue stripe situation here!”)5) They are very reasonably priced.A few things to know:1) Being cotton, these do shrink a bit. No big surprise there.2) The Gerber onesies seem to run a bit small, at least in comparison with several other brands we have used. Our baby was 8 1/2 lbs at birth and 21 inches long, and she basically skipped the 0-3 month size. At 10 weeks of age she was ready for the 6-9 month size. Admittedly she was near the top of the weight and length charts, but I confirmed with other parents that the Gerber onesies do run a bit small. Not a problem as long as you’re aware of it!

LARGE for size!
Have purchased different sizes multiple times over the past couple years- they run BIG. My boys are in sz 5 diapers, the oldest is 33lb and 38″ tall- 2T is big on him (the crotch is loose and hangs down, doesn’t hold his diaper on. 18mo size fits him well. They dont shrink much with washing and we did get a pack of 12mo last year for his younger brother that didn’t last very long- snaps come off, and they developed multiple holes in the fabric and around the snaps.
