Get the leak proof lid
The Gen2 Plus is awesome! The leak proof lid really works. I tested with water and then my milk and was shocked to see it really doesn’t leak. This is my first hakaa, I did have to pull back the flange to make it work. Not sure if that’s my anatomy or if because it had the lid thing in it. I picked this up 8m pp and was skepitical if it would really get anything since my supply is regulated. Nope, still works! Really glad I got it.

Who would have thought this thing works so good with just 2 simple parts (I have hand pumps that have ”billion parts” that are a lot if cleaning to do). As a mother of 5 I wish I would have had one long time ago.It catches your “leaking breastmilk” but it also works as a pump (don’t listen reviews that sat it doesn’t work, I’ve personally proved it works). Both needed even when weaning and wanting to collect or pump out your extra milk and bottle it.Only thing is your nipple can get tiny bit “pinched” between the tube and the “blocking lid” for awhile when you put it on, but it actually doesn’t hurt and you just pull your skin out gently (looks worse than is). So keeping 5 stars for this item and would definitely recommend!!I haven’t tried it yet weather it doesn’t leak the milk out if falling over, but to me the fact it actually works so good is already enough!

I had the original haakaa and wanted something bigger and originally the non spill insert but after using it a few times, it is so much more comfortable and worth the upgrade

I’ve always liked the Haakaa Manual pump and decided to try this Gen 2 Haakaa Manual Breast Pump and it’s still one of my favorite pumping tools. The gentle, natural suction is effective, it catches letdown easily and the soft silicone flange makes it comfortable to use even for longer periods of time.The one piece design is fine as I usually use this during feeding. No cords, no batteries, no noise.The stopper is a small but genius addition. It locks in every drop of milk, preventing leaks if it gets tipped. No crying over spilled milk.Cleanup is easy since it’s 100% food grade silicone, BPA-free, and safe to sterilize however I need… boil or dishwasher, it’s all fine.

Great for early breastfeeding, but not effective later on
I really wanted this to work for me and I can definitely see why so many moms love it, but I think I’m just a little too far along in my breastfeeding journey for a manual pump like this to be effective.I’m currently breastfeeding my 4th child and this baby is 6 months old, starting solids, and my supply has naturally regulated (no oversupply anymore). I’ve found that only my electric pump can really do the job at this point. However, this Haakaa (Gen 2) is excellent quality. The silicone is thick, soft (for silicone at least), and clearly very well made. The suction is strong for a manual pump and the stopper is awesome and a great addition to this version. It really helps prevent spills. It feels easy to grip and secure while using. If I had this earlier on postpartum when my supply was higher, this would have been amazing. I would have used it constantly during feeds to catch extra milk or just for some quick relief. This would be great early on or with an oversupply. Unfortunately for me, at this point, it just doesn’t replace an electric pump, but that’s more about where I am than any flaw in the product itself.Overall, this is a high quality manual pump perfect for early breastfeeding. I would absolutely recommend this to breastfeeding moms early on in their journey. However, I would not recommend this if already further in.

This manual pump has been so much more discreet than my auto pump. It is completely quiet, and requires no battery to charge or cords or any electricity at all which makes it convenient for me when I’m in the car or out and about. The soft, flexible silicone feels comfortable against my skin and creates good suction for easy pumping. The volume capacity is good and the stopper keeps spills from occurring, so leakage is not a problem. It’s easy to clean and BPA free, which makes it safer than some alternatives. I also like the eco-conscious aspect of using silicone as it can be reused for years and years for sustainability and longevity. This Is a great pump to have during power outages as well. The quality is great and the price is reasonable, giving it good value for the price and I highly recommend it as the brand is reputable.

It’s convenient to just put it on without touching it. It’s good that the insert keeps breast milk from pouring out. However, it’s a little cumbersome to put it on and breastfeed as the child grows older. My baby is now on her 47th day and she keeps kicking it.

Great haakka, i like the option of 2 sizes to choose from. I got the 5oz one so I could use for both breasts before I empty it into a milk bag. Its super easy to use and works well. Suction is great and stays secure during use. Its spill proof which i think is an absolute game changer as i have split so many milk with my previous hakkas, so this gives me a great peace of mind during the nights when I may fall asleep with it on. I dont think i would use it without a stopper in now i have it! The suction cup as the base is great to avoid spillage when placing it down to open a milk bag as it suction saftley to the counter top. It is then easy to un suction it without a struggle. Its a fantastic design and im glad to get to use it on my last ever breast feeding journey. I take it everywhere with me as it fits well in my bag. Great design that I knew I needed instantly. Its easy to clean and drys out very well. I like to heat it up in hot water before use, so by the time im ready to put it on its warm and helps my let down start. Great quality gen.2 haakaa that I highly recommend.

This is an outstanding pump.It works incredibly well. The silicone is the softest I’ve seen or felt. The softness means it moulds around the breast very smoothly and offers a firm suction.Feeding on one side and pumping on the other works incredibly well.It’s easy to clean and so cleverly designed.The stopper works well as it fits with no leaking.Quite honestly if you’re looking for a hand pump, look no further this is outstanding.
