How To Use Your Haakaa Breast Pump:
1.Gently squeeze the pump to force air out.
2.Invert the flange, place on your breast with your nipple centred in the middle of the neck.
3.Return the flange, slightly let the pump go until you begin to feel suction.
4.Maintaining a full seal of contact with your breast, then start expressing.

Breast Pump Instructions:
1. Sterilise your pump by boiling in water for 2-3 minutes.
2. Place the pump flange over your nipple – make sure your nipple is centred comfortably in the neck of the pump.
3. Once the pump is secure and comfortable, apply suction by squeezing the base of the pump to start the flow of milk – you may need to adjust the position of your pump a couple of times. Once milk begins to flow, simply leave the pump alone to do its thing!
4. When the pump is full, empty into a glass storage bottle and reposition on your breast.
Tips:
Encourage let-down by placing a warm flannel on top of your breast and massaging gently. While your child is feeding, attach your Haakaa pump to the other breast to catch precious milk that would otherwise be lost in a nursing pad. Store milk in the refrigerator for up to three days. Make sure to label your milk with a date and only fill the container 3/4 full to allow room for milk to expand.

Wonderful, simple, gentle; can’t believe I’m just now discovering this
I am on my second child, have pumped with Medela Symphony and PISA with first baby, as well as a Willow with this baby. I didn’t realize how much damage using the wrong pump or incorrectly using a pump could do. Nursing was never comfortable with my first child due to injury from pumping too long to create a supply for returning to work. This time working with a lactation consultant, even with some supply issues due to a sleepy baby, I learned that nursing was going better without pumping in the first few weeks. The Haakaa was suggested for gentle pumping with nursing. I watched a few videos, received it overnight with Prime, tried it this morning and had no problems. I can’t believe how much time, pain, tears and dollars I wasted when I could have bought this. My biggest problem will be keeping my 3yo away because she thinks it’s beautiful and wants to play with it.Pros: gentler than other non-hospital grade pumps I’ve used. Worked well when used while breastfeeding on other side. I have a 3week old, had milk slow to come in and got 3oz total after morning nursing both sides. Passive suction works pretty well, essentially like a Jackson Pratt drain if you have a medical background.Most affordable type of pump I’m aware of.Flower plug is super cute and does actually work when turned upside down.Cons: an active baby could knock it off of you by kicking.Probably less effective than other pumps at removing milk, especially if going back to work or not simultaneously nursing. I had some supply/baby weight gain issues early and this would not have fixed those.Not as discreet as other pumps for use in car, etc.Easy to tip over. Get one with the suction base.Overall this is a wonderful tool for me right now, with an established supply and a goal of building a store for night feeds by partner and return to work.Do yourself a favor and buy this sooner on your journey than I did.

I use it every single day! Much better than any hand pump. I can use it at my desk at work and no one knows because it doesn’t make any noise or move- aside from a suction release noise if I’m just whipping it off in a hurry. It holds up to 4 oz easily. You adjust the suction by squeezing or releasing the base. Easy to pour into bags and clean. It’s seriously a life saver. Super comfortable and compact and the little flower stopper is a must have! Keeps things from spilling and the suction is awesome on the base to keep it upright. I saw this on a youtube video and decided to give it a try and it is amazeballs. I can even put it on while I’m nursing on the other side. Seriously- get one. I’d add a picture but it’s currently in use!

BUY IT! I CANNOT BELIEVE I LIVED WITHOUT THIS!!!
The Haakaa is a LIFESAVER. I’ve always had an issue with leaking milk while breastfeeding, EX. Baby will be eating from left breast and right will just leak like crazy into my bra, PROBLEM SOLVED. No noise, it’s not in the way and I’m not watching ounces of milk being wasted! I have larger breasts (DDD) and the Haakaa is very comfortable, simply attaches with a squeeze. This is my 3rd child and I cannot believe I didn’t know about the Haakaa for my first two!! Now pumping is optional, my L.O. Is 1 week old and I collect over 1 oz of milk during a 15 minute feeding! Getting the suction perfect takes a few tries, I adjust mine whenever it feels off and the stopper that comes with is perfect for storing between feedings! If you’re looking for an active pump this is not for you, imagine a suction cup that is simply there to catch milk.

Life saver!
This is an amazing product. My pediatrician told me about this since I was not producing enough milk for my baby. He seemed hungry at night and we always need to supplement with formula. She told me to use this while the baby is breastfeeding to pump milk at the same time. It sounded too good to be true, but was excited to try. Anything to replace separate pumping sessions!I was so surprised by how much milk I was able to collect. Depending on how full or empty I am, within the first day of using this, I am able to collect anywhere from an extra 0.2 oz to 1.5 oz per breast per time. And this is after baby has fed from that side already! No noise, no pain, and even works laying down.Now I can easily have extra breast milk to top my baby off at night! He slept for 6 hours straight last night because we were able to give him an extra 2 ounces! And he’s only 2.5 weeks old! Amazing! I’m so happy that I will be able to get some extra sleep without having to use formula. Highly recommend! This will make my life so much easier.

Amazing game changing device
Love this product! It is silicone, lightweight and easy to use. Another Mom recommended it and then so did my doctor. I was hesitant at first because I’m not and overproducer and with baby #1 I had another device that was big and bulky and only collected a few drops each time I used it. With this haakaa you suction it on and so it applies some minor pressure and actually expresses some breast milk. I’m going back to work in a few weeks and I’ve managed to save up so much milk using this device that I’m not worried about her having enough milk when I go back to work, which was a huge concern with baby #1. It is a little awkward to have to have both breasts out at a feeding, (one to nurse and one for this device) but while I’m home alone during the day with my babies I don’t mind at all and when other people are over I’m under a blanket anyway. I would definitely recommend this product. For the price, even if you don’t end up liking it it will be worth trying. My only complaint is that the stopper that came with it split and cracked after only a few weeks of use. Otherwise I would have given 4 stars.
