Highly recommend this penguin toy as an early educational toy!
I ordered an Interactive Penguin Toy for boys or girls ages six months and up. This particular penguin toy that I ordered is pink, making it more appropriate for a little girl. I ordered it for our great granddaughter’s upcoming first birthday.This interactive penguin toy is made from BPA-Free, Non-Toxic materials with smooth edges. It takes three AA batteries that are not included. And also has an on/off button in the back.This educational toy has been marketed for children 6+ months and so I was a little cautious in the review that I give it because of the possible issues that can arise with toys having small parts as well as being able to hold a young child’s attention. To my surprise, the toy is built, quite sturdy with nothing that I could see would possibly be an immediate safety measure. There are interactive buttons for playing music as well as additional for selecting items that the penguin will describe.The toy is quite solid as well as colorful and looks like it is constructed very well.When pressing the middle button, a diverse selection of songs appears, allowing the child to either dance or sing along. The penguin’s eyes change color, and its crown on top of its head also illuminates.There’s actually three flaps that open up to circles with each collection of pictures covering a certain area of education.The first one helps the child identify and know what different types of transportation, such as boats, cars, motorcycles, etc.The second one covers a lot of animals and interestingly enough they are put in the form of more like a child’s toy rather than what you would see on the Discovery Channel.The third one basically covers food items such as a pizza, donut, ice cream, hotdog, etc.And the last page covers products that you would grow in a garden. There are potatoes, peas, carrots, corn, etc. When you press the button associated next to the picture, the button lights up, and the penguin describes what the item is and sometimes adds sounds or a little humor.If you push down the left flipper, the center light will spin and when it lands on something, the penguin will discuss what that is.If you push down the right flipper, the penguin will come up with a surprise or just say something silly and comical.This penguin toy is built to last, thanks to its sturdy construction. I don’t think a young child would be able to destroy it easily, so it could potentially be passed down to multiple children.I also believe this toy would likely keep the attention of a child up to three years old and would be beneficial for early development. Furthermore, since the toy is not large, it can be easily stored or used as entertainment during travel.I would give good marks for the speaker as well, as it is clear and has a loud but not intrusive, listening volume. I would definitely recommend this as an early educational toy. The price is a bit high, but the quality is good!
