Love that the volume is adjustable
This is a cute little crab baby sleep toy. It’s a good size and you can adjust the volume which is nice because you can’t always do that on baby toys. One thing I will say is that there’s a blue plastic protective cover on the back that is meant yo be peeled off but it’s kind of hard to remove because they stitched it in. Other than that this works well and could be a really cute gift.

It does not come with batteries, but takes three AAA batteries. The sound/light center disc comes out of the crab easily for battery placement. I like that the battery compartment has a screw to keep baby safe. It has just a few songs and sounds. While not perfect sound, it actually is not bad. There are different colored lights that shine through the holes on the center desk.On the back of the crab is the mirror. It comes with a blue coating that you were supposed to take off to reveal the mirror underneath. Unfortunately the blue coating is sewn in and there is no way to remove it easily.This is a good play or nap toy.

Cute toy with music AND A VOLUME DOWN button!
This is a very cute toy for probably up to 2 years of age, where at every age range they may get a different play style out of it. Infants will enjoy grabbing it and maybe chewing it, and you’ll have to play the music for them. 1-2 year olds will be able to play the music themselves and will get a kick out of trying it out. I appreciate the volume down button, which 90% of baby toys don’t have. I only wish it was hidden where it’s not as easy for the baby to increase it back up.

It is a little music and light/sound machine inside a cute little fabric crab design – although not really a toy as the machine pops out of the crab case easily and it’s then just a hard plastic round music and light item with an empty crab cover (although babies 6-10 months are going to love to play with that as they can chew on it and there is a little mirror on the back to gaze at the ‘baby’ they see there.The little music and light machine runs on batteries – 3 AAA – that are not included so you’ll need batteries and a tiny little sized screw driver to open the back. This is a huge PLUS for me as we have ‘rechargable’ toys that always go dead in the middle of playing, you have to hunt to find the cords and then wait for it to charge before the baby can use it again. Batteries are awesome – they last longer, work better and no cords to keep track of. And because I always see reviewers complain about ‘gray and blue’ mirrors that are useless and you can’t see clearly…. I want to add; “remove the film”. Many don’t know to pull off the gray or blue thin plastic film – it’s just there to protect from scratches during shipping.The music can be played or you can switch to ‘sounds’ – and the best part is that you really CAN turn it DOWN. So many irritating toys for babies and children are unsafe due to the loud music and sounds that harm hearing but you are stuck with them. Thankfully this one really does have a good “lower” volume button you can turn it down and not have it blaring louder than the neighborhood ice cream truck. It’s a bit high at almost twenty two dollars but still not a terrible value.
