Super easy to install and use. Just using it at the bottom of stairs to keep dogs from going up. Not sturdy enough in this location to use for a toddler, but it’s doing what we need it to do

Not great for an actual gate
This isn’t what I would consider a “gate.” It does slide to the side so you can get through but it doesn’t always slide easily and doesn’t give a lot of room to get through. To say this is “no mounting needed” is very misleading. It can work by tension (barely) but if you want it to stay up without being knocked over at the lightest tough, you have to install the cups on the wall. Otherwise, the tension isn’t enough to hold back even a cat pawing at it.It also is constantly twisting, which makes it difficult to stay in place. The tension rod is not easy to use and not particularly convenient. It often gets stuck and makes it difficult to slide.If you need an actual gate and will be passing through frequently and also need a unit that will hold back if an animal tries to get through, this is definitely not the right product. If all you need is a barrier for either a very small animal that isn’t going to test it or in an area that you don’t need to get to very often, it’s passable.

Difficult to operate
We found this gate to be difficult to open and close. It uses a toothed rail mechanism that is balky unless the gate parts are carefully aligned. The latch is also hard to use and we found it easy to pinch fingers when using it. There are better, albeit more expensive, alternatives.

It’s functional not the best I’ve used.
So this plastic gate is kind of a pastel green, not nearly as ugly as I thought it would be, but still kind of ugly.It seems sturdy enough to do the job it needs to do, for me that is to keep the dog out of the ‘workshop’ room.It does come with cups you need to install onto the door frame, which I did not use, if you intend it to remain in place with a baby or pet pushing against it. Lucky for me, my dog is smart enough to not test obstacles like this, however if you will have anything pushing it, you will NEED to install those cups. It pushes out very easy, even when placed as tight as I could get it.Installing it in the door manages to be simple and a pain at the same time. The locking mechanism requires extra space between the frame and the end of the gate, so you have to fiddle with it to find that right distance for a tight/secure closing. Really not a fan.Then once it is in place, the handle can be finicky to get loose again.But, that’s pretty much most of the baby gates in this style it seems.So overall, it’s functional, decently built and pretty much is what it says it is.
